FIVE Home Remedies for Earaches and Ear infections.

Ever have that problem where you are fine one day and the next...BAM!!! you have an ear infection or ear ache. My friends I am suffering this right now. I am not a big fan of going to the doctor and taking a lot of prescription medications. If you are like me you scramble all over the internet to find simple little remedies that will help cure your painful woes.

Earaches are very painful. First of all you have to determine the whereabouts of the pain. Ear infections are mostly more common in children than when we are adults. I remember having ear aches all the time. It was not fun at all, and my mother didn't like it either. However she stayed up with me through the night to calm me down so I could sleep.
Ear wax buildup causes ear aches sometimes because they transfer a bacteria to our body and create an infection within our ear. Sometimes the wax buildup causes temporary loss of hearing. However if left untreated over time it can cause damage that results in permanent hearing loss.

Also before beginning any treatment consult your doctor before preforming anything. Just to make sure you do not cause yourself or others harm. If you get the green light to go then check out these remedies I have to share that I know personally that work.

1.  Salt- Salt is a really good cure for an earache it has the ability to help soothe the pain from the earache and help you rest better. What you will need...
    • Get a Sock or piece of cloth that will contain about 1 cup of salt.
    • Just heat up one cup of salt in a pan over low heat for a few minutes. You also can heat the salt in the microwave. Do not over heat it could cause burns.
    • Put salt in sock or cloth and close tightly by using a knot in the sock or securing it with a rubber band.
    • Let the compress cool for a little but not to cool. Just enough to where the heat is bearable. Lay down and put the compress on the ear for about 5-10 minutes. This will help the fluid build up be drawn out and relieve the pain.
    • Repeat this remedy as many times you need to until your pain has gone away.

As an alternative to this method you can also use a rice bag. (My husband does this a lot).

2.  Apple Cider Vinegar- What normally causes us to have ear infections is a fungus that grows in our ears from the buildup of ear wax. To get rid of this fungus you can use apple cider vinegar.
  1. Mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part water. Take a cotton ball and soak it in this solution.
  2. Take a small enough piece of the cotton ball to put in the ear like an ear plug and lay down on the side with the opposite ear so the solution has a chance to get into the affected ear by using gravity and leave for about five minutes
  3. Take out the cotton ball with the solution and lay down on the side with the affected ear. So the liquid can drain out from the ear. You can also use a hair dryer on low or medium setting to dry out your ear as much as you can.
You can use white vinegar if apple cider vinegar is not available.

3.  Olive Oil-  One main reason we get ear infections is the wax buildup in our ears. It can catch bacterial growth and when the wax gets built up inside it creates a blockage. This is an easy fix, and all you have to do is clear out the build up.

  1. Using the microwave warm up some olive oil (make sure not to get it too warm to prevent burning the inside of your ear).
  2. Place some drops in the ear that is infected or has the blockage
  3. Then lay down where the infected ear is upward. Let the oil soften the wax build up so it can then be removed.
  4. Using cotton swabs you can remove the wax that has become softened or loose. Please be careful and not to go too far because you can risk damaging the ear drum.

4.  Tea Tree Oil-  Tea tree oil can give an almost instant relieve from having an earache. You can use this essential oil to treat ear infections.
  1. Mixing three drops of tea tree oil, two table spoons of olive oil, a teaspoon of colloidal silver, and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Warm mixture, but be sure to not make it too hot because it could cause burns.
  2. While laying on your side with head on a towel. Use a dropper and fill the infected ear with the mixture and just let it sit for about five minutes. Then turn over and drain the mixture out of your ear.
  3. Do this for three times a day for about two days. It should clear up the ear infection.

5.  Breast Milk-  Yes breast milk. It's one of a kind. It has natural antibodies that can help speed up healing process for ear infections. It gets rid of swelling and the discomfort. It works both with children and adults.
  1. Using a dropper just put a few drops of breast milk into the infected ear.
  2. Every couple of hours, about two-three, repeat this process as directed.
Breast milk has many other advantages as well. You can also use it to treat eye infections, minor cuts and minor burns.

Hope this all helps you. If you are suffering from this illness I will wish you well. Comment below to let me know how it helped you and if you have any ideas how to get over ear infections fast.

Have a wonderful day. Wishing you the best.
