Creating a Space For Lauren-Taking baby steps until she comes home.
As you all might know my husband and I are having a child. We are having a little girl, and very excited. This is the first part of our home project series to prepare for the delivery of our youngest daughter.
So getting ready for her has been a chore because the other children in our family are a lot older. Yes, we are starting over, and it's not easy. So we hate to admit that we are a little bit out of practice of what there is to do to get ready for a baby.
James and I have decided to decorate her room and we want to include you all in on it. I really went through Pinterest for ideas for months and so did he. We finally settled on an idea that fits the both of us and also is not too girly but not too manly of colors. I think she will love it as she grows up.
You can also follow my baby and pregnancy boards on pinterest.
This is the color scheme we agreed on for the paint.
Then I found some other ideas that just fit perfectly and the hubby loved them very much.
Now of course we are not going directly by this plan. We, and when I say that I mean "I", want to add some pinks, yellows, and purples in there along with this room. I just really love the colors of the walls and trim. The room is in a well lit area of our house. I am doing my best to find everything I need before Lauren's arrival. My husband and I are so excited.
Here are some photos of our progress:
These are the before photos. As you can see it is a mess in this room because it was the spare bedroom, and as we are working the big pile in the corner is the items that we had at the time for the baby. We are making progress. It is a tough chore, but we know the end result will make all of us happy. Below are some photos of the first coat of paint. My hubby isn't happy that we have to go over again but he has that look on his face that tells me the end result will be just fabulous.
The fireplace will definitely be painted as well. We are going with a dark brown-chestnut color, and we will also paint the doors the same color. The trim around the room will be white like in the pinterest photos. The first coat is up, and we are very pleased with it.
We both are taking things in baby steps until she comes home. I am excited about this baby just as I was with my oldest child. I am going to be a proud momma of two wonderful girls, and I just know my husband and I are very blessed by this new addition to our lives.
I hope you all enjoy this post series. Keep tabs on us for updates and things to come. I am writing about the whole process.
Until next time....
