In A Little Bit

I have been seriously working hard on getting websites going and pages loaded up. Photos are my most daunting task. I admit, (hangs head in shame) I am not a patient person. I know many people today aren't. That is because we live in a "drive-thru" society. We all want it now and right now! Taking those pictures of my handmade items just really takes a lot of time. The good part about it though, I sqee with giggles when I upload them to the computer and they turn out amazing or adorable!  I have been doing a lot of reading lately. Not just for the English writing class I take online. I have been reading articles across the web about getting my Etsy to get more traffic and my blogs/web pages to get more traffic and followers. One blog I really LOVE the most is " Handmade Success ." Sometimes you feel like you have been eaten by a shark. LOL, yeah a friend of mine took this photo of me recently. We were in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Seriously for a moment, don't you feel like that. Life can be so overwhelming. Here lately I have been through some difficult times. Who hasn't right? However, at one point I thought everything was going to be okay then out of no where my world seemed to be going crazy. I felt like I was stranded out in the ocean and sharks were swimming around me. Who would have thought I would have my picture taken like this one. It might look funny but the situation I was going through was no laughing matter. There is one thing for sure. Although a lot of things contributed to my situation at that time. I know that I was not alone. God was with me through it all. I didn't let the enemy convince me otherwise. Although.... This is the part that is going to stun you a bit....            ...

Here lately we all overload ourselves with many tasks and at the end of the day we realize we didn't get those things finished. Or during the day we see one task we need to do and act like is not that important at the time and convince ourselves we will have time to work on it later. I don't know about you but my desk is getting piled up with a lot of things. So many deadlines are approaching and what do I do. Panic of course! Then I love the part where I constantly tell myself, "Geesh Mel!!!! if you only did this when you first thought of it or received information that it had to be done, you would not be in this mess!"    I love fairies. I think they are cute, mystical, and fun. Last year my daughter and I dressed up as fairies for Halloween. We used various references and I made my own wings. I will include a photo of that in a later post. They are epic and beautiful. I have a collection (as you might see here in this post) of pictures saved on my PINTEREST BOARD .    Whimsical Woodland Fairies     Fairy Make up tips.     Fairies can wear anything. This one looks vintage. I love black and white photos.     Of course Fairies need homes. I always say, "when I get a house one day I will have the ultimate craft room." Although, I do find other pictures on the internet, but this is one I always look back to. I love the brightness in the room and that bookshelf is the bomb! I love how the back of the shelves are decorated. One day I will have a special room. I love to alter clothing. One of my projects is turning T-shirts into shrugs.   It is very easy and simple to do. Let's say you have a T-shirt that has been shrunken in the wash or doesn't quite fit like it used to, or my excuse is I just don't like it to be a shirt anymore. Just turn the shirt inside out, with the front side up cut up the middle of the front of the shirt. Then cut around the collar and the top of the shirt. On your sewing machine you will sew a casing of about 1/2 inch by folding over the edges of the shirt that you cut and all the way up around the collar and down the front again. Use a color ribbon that matches the garment and thread it through the casing that you just now made. Pull like a drawstring at the desired size you like and wear with your favorite clothing pieces.  It is very simple to make and you can do this to so many shirts. Give new life to those clothing items that have been a bore lately. ENJOY! Melissa @ Allthangs...

I look throughout the web and I will come across items that interest me and inspire me to make something. One day I was looking and googled "Hello Kitty." Among all the many images that came up was the above picture. This would be awesome to make as a set of headphones or a headband. I am going to try this out with some of my many projects that are going on.

Here are the pictures from my brother's wedding. Their wedding cake was really pretty. The grooms cake happened to be my favorite. It was the car from Ghost busters. They are happily married now and I'm very happy for them both.

I am now currently hosting a page on the website called Deviant Art.  Allthangs at http://allthangs.deviantart.com .  I have some of my items showcased there with a few journal entries to share. I will do my best to keep this updated so everyone will stay in the know. I really like it.  I was introduced to this site by my daughter. She is a talented young artist and she gets a lot of feedback from that website. She has been on Deviant Art for quite some time now. I am finding that as each day passes I am enjoying Pinterest more and more. It is very addictive. My favorite is the food pins. Pins are where people repost links of things they found interesting on the web. I love this because I can use Pinterest for just about anything. Ideas for every day living, family, food and recipes, teaching, creative ideas, and even business and marketing tips. I also love to use it to promote my business and my blog. Several friends of mine will repin items for me to see and it gives us all another world of ideas to look into and use. So check out some of my pin boards and follow me on pinterest today.
